She has a small kutcha room, in which she cooks and sleeps.

Meera Rakwar told Local 18, “I have been living in a kutcha house for years. More than half of my house has collapsed, and now only a small room is left in which I cook and sleep. This room also starts leaking during rain, due to which the stove gets wet and I cannot sleep the whole night. There is a compulsion to sleep on the ground, and snakes or scorpions can come at any time.”

Meera tells that the condition of her house is so bad that if a guest comes, there is not even a place to sit. There is only one room, which is not enough even for them. In such a situation, the question of any other person staying there does not arise.

According to Meera Raikwar, earlier her house was completely constructed, but due to the rain, other rooms have collapsed. Now only one room is left, which can collapse any time. She says, “I have put up foil, but monkeys break the tiles, which leads to water dripping during rains.”

Meera Raikwar has not yet received the benefit of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, although she is eligible for this scheme. Despite this, he is forced to live in a small kutcha house.

Puran Prajapati of Saravai village has also been living in a mud house with his family. They too have not received the benefit of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. Due to recent heavy rains the wall of his house collapsed. Puran makes his living by making earthen pots. Meanwhile, Sarvai Sarpanch Krishna Sahu said that he was not aware of this matter, but now he has received this information and he will try his best to get Meera and Puran a house under the housing scheme.
